God is the Author
At the beginning of 2019, I shared three things that you could expect from this blog – biblical, authentic, and encouraging. The post that I am writing today falls under the category of me being authentic – real with you my readers.
Last December as I thought about setting goals for 2020 I was a bit neutral. Normally I am excited thinking and planning all I am going to do in the following year but I didn’t feel that. For the past few years, I have had a word for the year and that helped me structure my goals. But I had no word for the year and didn’t care that I didn’t.
I jokingly decided that 2020 was going to be my Jubilee Year. I like what Bible Study Tools has to say about Jubilee Year. “Thus there are three distinct factors constituting the essential features of the Jubliee Year: personal liberty, restitution of property, and what we might call the simple life.”
I did set Spiritual Goals for 2020. That was the one area that I had clear direction on. I had a few things I wanted to do – lose the last 10 pounds, write more, etc but no other goals for my year.
I was okay with that. It fit with my thoughts that in order to achieve our goals we must have the character. As I structured my blog for 2020, my focus was on Learn to Be Instead of Do.
Then I start to itch. You can read about it here.
This is not the chapter I would write next, but I am not the author. God is and so I will trust him. So right now I am facing health issues in ways that I have never faced before.
I would like to continue writing here. The focus of the will not change. I do not plan to make this blog about my health issues, that is what Caring Bridge if for. There will be references I am sure to things that are happening but that will not be the focus. I want to continue to write about developing the character that God wants in each of us so that we can be and do what he has called us to be and do.
I do have some goals at this time which are
- My health
- My family
- My writing
I am working on a memoir of my daughter, a Bible study of Ruth, and have a list of other things I want to be writing. I will also be blogging as I can.
Pray for me. Pray for my family. May God be glorified.
